According to data provided by the Municipal Aging Office, as of the end of 2010, there were 420,000 elderly people in Shenzhen, accounting for 4.1% of the city's permanent population; including 154,000 registered elderly people, accounting for 6.1% of the registered population. The service project has barrier-free travel service vehicles and service teams, mainly providing public welfare travel services for disabled friends and elderly friends with travel difficulties for medical treatment, rehabilitation, public services, etc.

Yixing Barrier-free Public Welfare Travel Service has 5 barrier-free travel service vehicles, which are equipped with wheelchair lifting devices, middle door steps, wheelchair fixing positions, wheelchair storage racks, rotating lifting seats and other special equipment to meet the travel needs of various people with limited mobility.

The wheelchair lift is installed on the side door or tailgate of the vehicle, allowing wheelchair passengers to get on and off the vehicle while sitting in the wheelchair. The middle door and the co-pilot position are equipped with retractable steps to reduce the height of the vehicle, making it easier for the elderly to get on and off the vehicle. The middle row of the car is also equipped with a welfare seat. The welfare seat can be rotated outside the car and lowered to dock with the equipped wheelchair base, which is not only convenient for getting on and off the car, but also solves the problem of wheelchairs when traveling. The car is equipped with a wheelchair fixing device, which has passed the international ISO test. After the wheelchair enters the car, the wheelchair is limited by 4 traction devices, which can also ensure the safety of wheelchair passengers in the event of emergency braking of the vehicle.
